Why put up with a cold, drafty home?
Zerodraft Toronto can find and seal the cracks and air leaks in your home, make life more comfortable and cut your energy bills by up to a third, maybe even more. We use quality products and the experience gained from years in the energy business to make your home warm and cozy in the winter, and cooler in summer.
Insulating an attic or basement is great, but it is critical that air leaks be sealed first. Large holes and cracks are hidden in the basement and attic. Batts and loose insulation will cover up holes, rather than seal them.
Ice Damming
Reduce or eliminate ice damming caused by warm air leaking into your attic. Air sealing your attic is the most cost effective way to prevent ice damming. Avoid the on-going expense of ice-melting coils.
Do It Yourself
If you want the rebate, have the evaluation done before you start the work.
You can do part or all of your air sealing as a do-it-yourself project and we will be happy to help you. If you have a home evaluation, we will walk you through your whole house to help you discover the air leaks and give you tips on how to fix them. We will also help you prioritize your air leaks -- what to do first and where the big problems are.
To succeed as a do-it-yourself project be prepared to spend 1-3 days, and you should be comfortable in a dust mask, knee pads, latex gloves and coveralls. To make effective use of your time and materials, I highly recommend the EPA Do-It-Yourself guide, it has great tips on how to discover air leaks, and really practical advice on what to wear and the materials you will need. The Air-Leakage Control guide by Natural Resources Canada is another great place to start.
The first step to get your rebate is to call or email for an energy evaluation.
